Nikon D850

Ok, recently purchased the Nikon D850.  Retailers are shaving $500 off of the retail price, and I decided to take the leap and get this beautiful full frame body! When it came out in 2017, it won awards for its design: Nikon D850 wikipedia page.  Recent reviews seem to point to the end of the SLR, and predict we will all be using mirrorless bodies soon: Nikon Z7 II vs Nikon D850  Sounds like if video is a feature you want, the mirrorless Z7 may be a better option.  I have to say, I miss the days when camera bodies were not becoming "obsolete" in the time it took to get home from the camera store.  I had a Nikon F3HP body that was top of its class for years.  One reason may be that for film cameras, a lot of the technology is built into the film, and not the camera.  Now we live in a time where manufacturers tell us that our electronics (cell phones, digital cameras, laptops, tablets, etc.) are "obsolete" in 2 years.  I guess a company isn't going to get rich if folks are able to hang on to the latest product for years without upgrading!

Well, let's enjoy what we have, and get out there and take some great photos!

You can purchase it now from B&H for $500 off of retail here: B&H Photo Video.

Ok, looks like the sale ended at B&H. I have seen the $500 discount come and go, so if you want this camera, keep an eye out for the next sale!

Let me know what you all think.  What camera are you using?  Or are you happy using the camera on your phone?  Anyone still using film?  Comment below!
